I am also very active in stray and surrendered dog rescue. The cause I am working on this month is sending 10 Kuranda beds to Luck Dog Rescue in Meridian Mississippi. They are a rescue run primarily by ONE person, who has an exhausting daily routine making sure her charges are clean, healthy, fed, walked and get playtime 7 days a week. Kuranda beds are like hammocks, so they are raised off the floor and comfortably suspended, but also minimize laundry required and dangers of the dogs ingesting bedding.

My goal is to raise $30/day every day in September and raise the necessary $900 to send her 10 beds: 5 large and 5 medium by the beginning of October. To donate, please click the 'chip in' button here:

Bekker, who has switched ownership this month, was entered in the AKC and Toller Specialty shows this weekend. He came in second yesterday and FIRST in his class today. Thanks to the lovely Rachel Lundberg from Tikko Tollers for kindly agreeing to show him since I had work obligations and could not get away.

While this doesn't translate to actual CKC Championship points, we are very happy that he seems to love to show and now has a few experiences under his belt. We couldn't be prouder.

Stella (Daintree's Diamond Wake) also came first in her class, so it really was a good day for Daintree making a few inroads into the show world <3

Rhys' Clearances are Finally In!!

This is Patrick. He is a dog who was rescued from untold abuse and neglect in New Jersey just before St Patrick's day (hence the name.) His owner tossed him in a trash bag down a 22 story garbage chute, but only after starving him for months. I have been following his fight on facebook. Donations poured in, and the vet hospital he is in had to stop people from continuing to send money! That is LOVE- over 30,000 people joined his facebook page to watch his progress.

Thanks to Patrick, there are many great things stemming from his community!
